58th Annual Bethesda Ball


The 58th Annual Bethesda Ball, one of the oldest galas in Palm Beach County, will be A Royal Celebration on Saturday, March 2 at The Breakers, Palm Beach. Dr. and Mrs. William Skinner are serving as this year's Ball chairmen and Dr. Jim Byrnes is being recognized as the Ball's Honorary Chairman. Both Dr. Skinner and Dr. Byrnes have been on staff at Bethesda for more than 20 years and Dr. Byrnes is the Immediate Past President of the Palm Beach County Medical Society and Chief of the Bethesda Medical Staff. 
The elegant and festive evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails in the Mediterranean Ballroom and at 7:30 p.m., the doors will open to the Venetian Ballroom for dinner and dancing. This black tie evening will feature a British inspired dinner, a great band for dancing in VoxBlu, and special entertainment by "Almost Elton John and the Rocket Band". Guests will receive the royal treatment and can win a trip in the Live Auction to London fit for a King and Queen with a 5 day, 4-night stay at Claridge’s, the most iconic 5-star hotel in the Mayfair district as you tour this amazing city. The other live auction will be "Take A Break" at The Breakers, which includes a two-night stay, dinner for two and more.
The Ball will also feature five other prizes community members can try to win for $100 a try, available now, in advance, and participants need not be present to win, including “The Crown Jewels” from Private Jewelers on Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach, showcasing a gorgeous $10,000 necklace of black-and-white pearls acquired from around the world, accompanied by 45-hand cut Royal Blue Sapphires and 32-Brilliant Cut Diamonds totaling over 5.00 carats. The piece was custom designed to 40-plus inches for versatile wear and is courtesy of Private Jewelers. Additional prizes include Golf Trips to Dye For, which is a play and stay package at Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic that includes golf and accommodations; and visit one of Pete Dye’s other famed courses with your tickets to see the PGA pros at The Players Championship at TPC at Sawgrass, May 9-12, 2013 in Ponte Vedra while staying nearby at the luxurious beachfront resort: One Ocean Resort & Spa. Ball proceeds will benefit the Foundation's "Caring for our Community Campaign" to support technological advancements including an Orbic 3D C-Arm and BrainLab Navigational Software, which will allow physicians the opportunity to see three dimensionally into the location of the incision.  The result is a much improved outcome as well as a much safer procedure.
